Roland Van Hecke opened Barr-Tech Heavy Equipment Repair Ltd. in 2000 after recognizing a need in the Barrhead area for a big truck and equipment repair facility. At the time, there wasn’t a local truck shop in Barrhead, but many truck drivers, equipment owners and operators, and RV drivers. And so, Barr-Tech Heavy Equipment evolved from Roland helping a few family friends from the trunk of a car to now being the longest-running, family-owned truck repair shop in Barrhead. We’re proud to say a lot of our customers have been with us since the very beginning.
Today, Roland and his team of truck mechanics have decades of combined experience in the truck repair industry. Roland, himself, is a certified Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician, as well as Red Seal certified. His areas of expertise include engine overhauls, brake jobs, transmissions, rear-end overhauls, and all general truck and equipment repair.
At the heart of Barr-Tech Heavy Equipment Repair, we love trucks! The gears, the smoke, the power, and how the industry changes with new technology. We stay abreast of such advancements to best serve our customers and to be the best at what we do.
